Maroti also was very obedient and deeply attached to Baba Jumdevji. Sakhubai (wife of Maroti) and Varanasibai (wife of Baba Jumdevji) were very friendly to each other. Also, they never fought, never had any disagreement and lived with each other merrily.
To bring happiness and satisfaction to his family, he attained a state of nirvana. He achieved enlightenment. When he saw that there were many unhappy and unsatisfied people in country, he shared with them the blessings which he found during enlightenment and worked towards betterment of such unpriviledge people. Similarly, he formed many organisations and founded "Manav Dharma" to benefit and secure life of poor and uneducated people. People belonging to "Manav Dharma" are called as "Sevak".

Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji immensely loved his family. He never let his brothers go away from him. But he was more attached to his small brother "Maroti Rao Thubrikar". He always stayed with Maroti Rao in one house. Families of Baba and Maroti Rao stayed together and helped each other in every complex situation. Both the families never quarreled. Similarly, Maroti Rao and his family always did whatever Baba Said.
Affectionately Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji was called as "Daaji" and Maatoshri Varanasi Bai was called as "Daadamaai" by their family members.
Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji was born to a Knitter and financially poor family. He saw many tragic moments in his life. His family members were very which Baba Jumdevji never liked. He used to do his family business of knitting and he also worked for a jeweller. Later in his life, he worked at Municipal corporation for some years as Civil contractor. He was very very hard-working. He knew how to support his family and family members also treated him with respect. Though he was born as 4th child to his parents, he was fondly called as "Daaji" by every individual in his family. Baba Jumdevji was a very famous wrestler and was referred as "Jumman Pahalwan" by local people. Baba used to take care of his family and treated everyone with equality. His whole family supported him fully and he did his best to make his family happy and content. Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji attained the blessing of god and when he freed his family from sorrow, he distributed this blessings to his Sevaks to make their life content and blissful. He played important role in giving his son higher education and sending him to US, for which he had to mortgage his family home.
Mahan tyagi Baba Jumdevji had founded many organisations for his people, known as "Sevak", to improve their social, financial and educational state. He worked very hard, day and night to form his organisations. He never cared about his health and had starved many times. His only goal was to help human beings. He always cared about his Sevaks and worked on ways to improve their life both economically and educationally.
He founded various organisations as follows:
- Parampujya Parmatma Ek Sevak Mandal, Timki, Nagpur(4 December 1969)
- Parmatma Ek Sevak Nagarik Sahakari Bank Limited, Nagpur(4 December 1976)
- Parampujya Parmatma Ek Graahak bhandar, Nagpur(4 June 1976)
- Parampujya Parmatma Ek Sahakari Dugdha(Milk) Sanstha, Salai Mendha(1 October 1978)
- Parampujya Parmatma Ek Sahakari Dugdha(Milk) Sanstha, Dyop(1 February 1981)
- Parampujya Parmatma Ek Sarvajanik Dawakhana, Nagpur(29 June 1989)
- Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji Ugamsthan Sanstha, Timki, Nagpur
All the organisations that Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji formed never had Baba jumdevji or his family members on any official positions. He gave preference to his Sevaks. But today, all the organisations that Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji formed are out of operation or defunct. Our Sevaks are solely responsible for this condition.
The movement started by Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji has now came to a halt. Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji struggled though out his life and gave everything possible to the Sevaks but now, the same Sevak is interrupting Baba Jumdevji's great work for humanity. When his son Dr. Mano Thubrikar came to Nagpur, he was stunned and heartbroken to this unexpected scenario. Regardless of that, with strong belief in the fundamentals of Manav Dharma Dr. Mano Thubrikar founded Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji Ugamsthan Sanstha. This organisation solves many monetary and social problems of Sevak like educations of children and marriage of girls.
Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji inspired his superstitious and discontent family members to live happy and prosperous life with the help of God’s blessings. When Baba noticed that there are many unfortunate and unhappy people in the society, Baba euphorically passed around God’s blessing. All the members of family have adopted the principles of Baba’s teaching and are leading their lives under the auspices of God’s blessing.
When Baba Jumdevji was engaged in the process of seeking God’s blessing, all family members supported him totally with great enthusiasm. Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji previously lived in small palace, called as “Thubrikar Palace” near Golibar Square, Nagpur. But, when the number of family members increased, his father "Vithoba" bought the house at Timki (Current place housing “Ugamsthan”). This house was haunted and hence his family members were very tired and afraid. Water pots used to fall and loom used to work automatically. With one whistling sounds, one living person died. If a small child was sleeping, ants surround child without any reason. The house at Timki was 2 storeys and reflection of a person was found to go up from ground floor to second floor periodically. Because of this, all family members were completely under depression and they all tried their best to eliminate this problem. They called up Pandits, carried out rituals, but they never got the actual relief. This made them financially poor and their health diminished with daily increase in stress. All known practices to get relief were tried but all were in vain. Apart from all these, some property related matter was in court of law adding extra financial burden on family. With no money and no satisfaction, all family members lost their faith. The main reason behind seeking God’s blessing was to ensure peace and harmony within family.
One day when Baba Jumdevji and Maroti were working on handloom in presence of family members, a person came and said, "Your house is so haunted then why don't you try to sanctify it." The same person told Baba to go to a Tantrik near Mouda city. To test this possibility, Baba Jumdevji, his elder brother Narayana and Jagobaji headed towards Mouda. On their way to Mouda, they accidentally met an unknown person. His name was "Bhagwan". He greeted Baba and requested to visit his home. But Baba told Bhagwan that he has to meet the Tantrik to solve his problems. Then Bhagwan asked Baba about his problems. Baba told all the things that had happened. Then Bhagwan told Baba Jumdevji to not to go to Tantrik because that Tantrik was deceiving and will do nothing but con him. Bhagwan also told Baba Jumdevji that if Baba listen to his words and follows the same, then only his life will be happy. Bhagwan said that he has a Mantra and if Baba could successfully perform the rituals, then his family will lead happy life. He also warned Baba that the ritual was very difficult and the person performing the ritual may lose his mental balance or die. Bhagwan told all the intricate details of the ritual to Baba and his brothers. Baba saw some potential in this ritual and thought of performing it. Since Baba had done so much things in past, he was ready to do one more thing to get back the peace and harmony of his family. There was a distinct shine and hope on Baba's face on that day.
Baba and his brothers came back home happily without meeting the Tantrik and in a family meeting they described the ritual told by Bhagwan. He asked all his brothers if anyone of them was ready to perform the ritual. Some one has to perform the task. As warned by Bhagwan, if not performed in correct order, the performer of ritual may die or lose his sense. Hence, none of them wanted to perform the ritual. Baba asked his three elder brothers again but they were not ready. Baba did not ask his small brother Maroti as he was very young. At this point of time, Baba decided that he will perform the ritual. He asked his brother's family members that if in case he dies or lose his sense, will they look after his family means his wife and son. His brothers agreed to take care of Baba’s family and with everyone's consent the ritual started. Baba Jumdevji had only one goal in mind and that was to do whatever it takes to make his family and coming generations happy and content. Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji performed Havans for first five consecutive nights. At that time, duration of every single Havan was 3 hours. This Havan is called as “Trital Havan”. Everyday Baba's family members took bath at 10 pm and then only start the Havan. The ritual used to end at about 6 am everyday. At day time, Baba has to perform all his household duties and at night he would seek God's blessings.
As per Baba’s record, while performing ritual, Baba used to attain a void state and used to converse with Baba Hanumanji. Whenever Baba recited the Mantra, Hanumanji picked the ghosts and wicked souls with his tail and threw those evil souls in Havan. After performing the ritual for 5 days, on the last 6th day, the day of "Shravan Vadya Shashti", Baba Jumdevji achieved the blessing of God. In this way Baba Jumdevji brought peace and prosperity to his family. And the current house of Baba Jumdevji is now completely peaceful and blessed.
During the ritual, Baba and his family took many precautions. A women shadow or reflection was not permitted to fall on Baba. Baba's brothers always had the neighboring area secured to avoid any unwanted interruptions in the ritual process. Baba always had his little brother Maroti with him while performing the ritual. He fondly called Maroti as "Chote Sevak". Baba gave up all what he had got, he strived hard and attained God's blessing in 1947 on the auspicious day of "Shravan Vadya Shashti". He eliminated the pain and worries his family was facing for long time. All in the family contributed fully towards the attainment of God's Blessings.
After attaining God's Blessing, Baba and his family did sacrificing deeds for 15 months and then Maroti Rao performed the last Havan. After this, Baba never performed any Havan.
"He Sevak, mai Bhagwan hu, tu manav hai. Mai janata hu manav yeh beiman hai. Unme se tu ek manav hai. Bhale hi tune mujhe prapt kiya, mai Bhagwan hu, mai manav par kadapi vishwas nahi karta."
(O Sevak, I am God, you are human being. I know human being is disloyal. You are one of them. Even though you have perceived me, I am God; I will never believe a human being.)
God said above words during his appearance before Baba Jumdevji at Baba’s house in Timki. Baba was restless because God referred human being as “disloyal”. After careful analysis Baba Jumdevji discovered the essential meaning of word “disloyal” and promised to God that he will perform the sacred service with full honesty and selflessness. Following his commitment to God, Baba Jumdevji made every individual aware of God.
Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji dedicated two principles to God, "Parmatma Ek (The one supreme spirit) and Mare ya jiye Bhagwat Naam par (To live or die on God's Name). God was extremely pleased with Baba and gifted two principles, "Dukhdari dur karte hue uddhar (To flourish by removing misery in life) and Ichchanusar Bhojan (To work for realizing the desires begged before the god). In this way a spiritual bond formed between Baba Jumdevji and God.
These four elements constituted the principles of Manav Dharma.
Baba Jumdevji proposed four principles to perceive God and to achieve selflessness.
1) Parmatma Ek (The one supreme spirit)
Baba Jumdevji searched one such God who has the ability to relieve human being from all the type of misery. God appeared before Baba and said, "Sevak, where are you searching for me? I am with you all the time. The moment I leave you, your body will die." Baba was amazed and searched for that thing which was keeping him alive. Suddenly, the idea of soul crossed his mind. If soul leaves human body, body becomes dead. The body is mortal but the soul is immortal. The soul of each and every living being makes one supreme spirit (Parmatma Ek). Baba realized that every living being has a part of supreme spirit. Supreme spirit is self-enlightened. The soul which is within Baba is the same soul within all other living beings. Baba understood that all human being are same. Having known this, Baba never touched the feet of any person and never permitted anyone to touch his feet. Because when a soul bends toward another soul, it causes disrespect to God. Our soul is always awake and mystical. God is not a person but is a mystical power. It is invisible to our eyes and we can only experience its divine characteristic. This is Parmatma Ek.
2) Mare ya jiye Bhagwat Naam par (To live or die on God's Name)
Even though human being is born on this earth, it is a part of Supreme spirit. God has bestowed humans with intelligence and also created other negative qualities like lust, temptation, illusion and pride. Because of these negative qualities human act like supreme and does not admire God. In such condition, because of improper use of intelligence human gets trapped by negative qualities and at last becomes miserable. Human tries hard to get rid of miserable condition but only after failure of every possible treatment, human consider God.
For above reasons, Baba Jumdevji always asserted that human is not supreme but is only a living being performing duty. God is supreme power. A human must perform duty, without expecting the outcome. It is God who gives results. A human should perform activities that are pleasing to God. In this way a human soul merges with the supreme spirit otherwise a human soul remains unsatisfied. Human must perform duties keeping God in focus as this not only causes destruction of pride within but also protects from the trap of negative qualities. This is called as “Mare ya jiye Bhagwat Naam par.”
3) Dukhdari dur karte hue uddhar (To flourish by removing misery in life)
Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji said that if a human can perform activities that are pleasing to God, give up temptation, illusion, and ego, stay true to everyone, follow limits and integrate love in behavior then such kind of human is always liked by God. Due to overall circumstances and condition in life including everything that happens inevitably a human becomes miserable. At that time, human carries out many treatments. But as human do not keep God in mind these treatments fail. If remedies are done with God in focus, human gets rid of all worries and misery. In this process, God actively supports human. In the end, God liberate human from hardship of life and human achieve Moksa (release from the cycle of rebirth). Human receives a place in God’s own feet. In this way the supreme spirit improves human life by removing misery.
4) Ichchanusar Bhojan (To work for realizing the desires begged before the god)
Many things are necessary in human life. For the most part, human remain attracted towards making his life happy and satisfactory. In such situation, human must desire for important things in front of God and make requests for their realization. If human works eagerly and honestly towards fulfillment of desires, then God grants wishes. “Ichchanusar Bhojan” does not mean that one must get to eat what is desired. If desires are in accordance with the type and magnitude of work human performs, then only God fulfils the desires. Otherwise, no desire is fulfilled. The important things here is that to have “Ichchanusar Bhojan” or to have desires fulfilled, one must work towards their fulfillment.
Teen Shabda (Three words)
After achieving the God’s blessings, Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji ordered to conduct a symposium “Bhagvat ki charcha-baithak” in the evening of every Saturday at Baba’s home. As per order of Baba Jumdevji, Baba’s family member gathered first. After that, with increase in number of Sevak (follower) of Manav Dharma, number of Sevaks taking part in symposium increased. During the symposium, Baba Jumdevji used to remain in void state and used to guide Sevaks to improve the status of life and follow truth, limits, and lovingness within family.
Baba Jumdevji have suggested three words of divine characteristics
1) Satya bolna(To speak truth)
2) Maryada paalan karna (Follow the limit)
3) Prem ke sath vyavhar karna(To behave nicely)
1) Satya bolna (To speak truth)
Truth is a set of words expressed by soul without any fear, without any result, without any regard. The sentence expressed by soul in front of the people without taking into consideration its effect on listener is truth. Otherwise, thinking about wrong impression of our words on listener, words are changed frequently to satisfy listener, then this practice is nothing but telling lies. Due to these words human gets cornered. A human must speak truth even if a sword hangs over the neck. Truth is bitter but truth is loved by God. In the path of Manav Dharma God’s blessing is a truth and telling lie is prohibited. No matter what business rules are, one must ensure truthfulness. One must not fear to perform truthful work because God’s blessing is always there for back up. Truth is the supreme spirit and supreme spirit is the truth. Because of speaking truth a family adheres to the limits, everyone behaves in lovely manner. Thus, Truth is the first Divine quality of God.
2) Maryada paalan karna (Follow the limit)
Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji always guided Sevaks to respectfully follow limits (decency) in family. Each person must stay in limits. Children should talk with elders in decent manner while elders must also maintain decency by replying in gentle way. Sevaks must show decent behavior while dealing with other Sevaks. Here, decent behavior does not means educated, uneducated, poor or rich. This is not decent behavior but this is inequality. All Sevaks are equal for God. Baba Jumdevji abandoned worship of gods and goddesses and avowed one supreme spirit (Parmatma Ek). This is real limit that must be followed. Following limit creates lovingness in a family which gives happiness and satisfaction to everyone. Feeling of affection for everyone appears within every person that results in commutation of truth.
3) Prem ke sath vyavahar karna (To behave nicely)
Sevaks must behave nicely with all members of his family and must not show anger on them. If someone is doing mistakes then that person must be corrected and explained in effective manner. Younger ones understand easily if they are explained in gentle way. But if you become angry on them then their will power decreases and due to nervousness they may violate limits. Love is the quality very much liked by God. Each person must have affection about everyone.
To live quality life, to improve family status and to achieve various objectives of human life, Baba Jumdevji have suggested five rules
1) Aim to admire only one God (Supreme spirit)
2) Establish truth, limits and lovingness within family and among Sevaks
3) Abandon harmful addictions (E.g. - Liquor, marijuana, betting, lottery, ox race, cockfights, stealing, lying and any other habit destroying pure form of living.)
4) Establish unity in family and within Sevaks
5) Keeping family in limits
After receiving God’s blessing Mahantyagi Baba Jumdevji relieved sufferings of numerous superstitious and drug addict people. Baba inspired Sevaks to live their life in an ideal manner and for their development Baba founded many societies. While improving social, educational and economical life of Sevaks Baba Jumdevji founded Manav dharma. Baba Jumdevji never thought of any kind of gains during foundation of Manav Dharma. Baba always said, “To work with selflessness for betterment of human being is true Manav Dharma”. Sacrifice is the priceless quality of human. A person who performs his duties with sacrifice in focus is a true Sevak of Manav Dharma.
Having these words of Baba Jumdevji in mind, we are completely devoted in spreading the Manav Dharma founded by Baba Jumdevji on global scale and continuing the work of social welfare initiated by Baba Jumdevji indefinitely. Sevaks can help in advancement of Manav Dharma if all of them perform their duty sincerely. For this, through our organization we can unite Sevaks and other people of society and encourage them to live good life.
With selflessness, we are trying to circulate Manav Dharma for the betterment of estranged people of society who are superstitious, poor and drug addict. Through the medium of Ugamsthan Sansthan, social work started by Baba Jumdevji will continue forever.
